1054 / Villa Capra “La Rotonda” * Andrea Palladio // Vicenza
Villa La Rotonda is a Renaissance Villa just outside vicenza in northern Italy, and designed by Andrea Palladio. I did this sketch last year, I remember being nervous and thinking: “am I allowed to draw so much beauty?” (I felt the same when drawing the Parthenon.) Finally I grabbed a (very) soft pencil, that I thought was “less agressive” and “more respectful” to the building.
As you can see, this soft pencil is hard to scan.
