Learning with the Master at João Catarino's reflections workshop: He is THE BEST! Thank you João for making me levitate on your reflections!
The amazing Salk Lake Institute was the main reason I came to California. It is confirmed: Louis Kahn was definitely THE BEST. This is one of the bunch of sketches I did there.
NYC memories. Before loosing my sketchbooks (unfortunately it happens more often than I would wish) I’m taking pictures of some of the NYC sketches.
Back to JFK airport! I was so sleepy, I needed a coffee, and breakfast, but when I saw Saarinen’s #TWA I just sat on the first sunny bench and sketched, forgetting the hunger and coffee addiction. Saarinen’s building was commissioned in 1956, to “capture the spirit of flight”. He surely did it!
Yesterday I had a nice brunch at Greenpoint with some friends that work at the United Nations. After that, I went to Long Island and drew that building. Le Corbu and Niemeyer’s edifice outstands for its proportions and light colors.
This afternoon at Blasco Ibañez, finishing one more sketch. History School, Av. Blasco Ibañez. Rationalist building from the architect Fernando Moreno Barberá.

Guadalaviar School (1957-60) is one my favorite buildings in Valencia. I love the composition of the exterior volumes, but I would like to stress the remarkable atmosphere created by the inner garden. Yesterday I saw this terrific light crossing the patio and I thought: “I had to Paint it!” Architect: Fernando Martínez García-Ordoñez
