40 minutes sketch (I had a train to catch) from the Campidoglio, looking at the Roman Forum. Right after going to the amazing Edward Hopper’s show (first time I saw his originals watercolors)

This morning at Roma-Termini, while waiting for the Freccia (train). Hard to sketch with all this crowd crossing in front of my eyes!
1212 / Queuing at Ciampino / Roma // Italy
Returning from Salerno, I stopped 3 hours in Naples and other 3 hours Rome, like that I was able to add some more emotion to the trip (I must admit, though it was relaxing…)
Rome was special chaotic that day, due to the Roma Marathon; there were large queues at the airport and the biggest concentration of asics running shoes I ever seen!
A special red back pack was given to the runners, like this pair I had in front of me.
1206 / This afternoon at S. Carlino / Rome
This afternoon at S. Carlino. I was 2 hours in Rome, on my way to Salerno. So, I had time to eat a cornetto e cappuccino, a tasteful panino and to sketch Borromini’s baroque master piece!

By the way, it is forbidden to paint there! I found it while finishing this drawing…
690 / Chiesa Vignola + Vicolo dell’atleta / Roma
Chiesa de S. maria dell’Orto (sec. XVI). Facciata de Jacopo Barozzi – Il Vignola.
The Vicolo dell’Atleta (Alley of the Athlete) gets its name from the finding of a statue of an athlete there, around the middle of the 19th century. The statue, which is called Apoxyomonosand can be seen in the Vatican Museums.
